Focus and refocus.
After some time spent reading and taking good heed to a rich feast on the bread of life, our “Daily Bread” I have some thoughts to share. Hopefully a comfort and maybe a clue for a seeker to think on.
God has been talking to me. Our talk has been about children growing up. Me first, but it’s what all are called to. He spoke about our need to listen closely for his voice, for he speaks to us in personal, individual and specific ways. Not just generalities. God is huge, and there’s lots we can say, but time comes to tune into what he is saying to us specifically, right now. He said “I am a God of specifics”
He leads us in right ways, ways that are specific for our individual present moment. It’s about centering in on the instruction needed for our own unique walk. For Psalm 121 tells the story. “I will instruct you in the way that you should go. I will counsel you with my loving eye upon you” Holy Spirit is our Wonderful Counselor.
The things that I’m growing through have been about new season time and new season ways in his liberty. Moving in new and more confidant ways, more closely aligned with his time. Deep stretchings. Transistionings.
As he began preparing me, He called for “Selah” pauses. To slow down and flow closer and deeper. He said. “Listen deeper.” I had to seek stillness, refocus my ears to hear him and his present moment leadings. These were instructions in the wise way to deal with the matters at hand in my own walk. God impressed some things on my heart deeply.
We are each so unique, and each of us has specific things we need to center in on in any given season, in order to flow and grow. Each has specific things we need to receive and release. When we set our full attention on private times with him alone, hearing new things and learning and growing everything changes. This change is the result of doing the necessary acts of my will to grow in deeper ways. Reminder of the charge to the saints to “Go on to maturity” from the book of Hebrews.
We can rest in his love. Our Shepherd tells us “Don’t forget what I’ve said in the light when you have to go through dark difficulties”
I was instructed to shift my attentions.
For the new era we need a new and closer yielding to his purposes. Getting our priorities more inline with where we belong in him. Feasting on the daily bread he sends for our specific needs; to do only what he has anointed us to do. To decrease so that he could increase in us. My uniqueness, and yours, requires different words and processes at different times.
Deep change has come as a result of refocusing with him. It has made an immense difference. I have peace and love like never before. The light is getting brighter. The way on the path is easier to follow. Now I am growing into new graces. I am delighting myself in his delights in me. His love is a mighty fortress.
He is the God who keeps on making all things new. I hope my story will be an encourager for you.
