A Virtuous Vision

Public

In my quest to go on to maturity I read about and study about the rare virtue of the Lady of Proverbs 31. I really believe the gems of truth in that beautiful passage of scripture are able to guide us into all the wisdom we need to walk in purity. It’s a picture of the demonstration of the fullness of the chosen one of God. Christlikeness.

Her children rise up and call her blessed, her husband sits with the elders at the gates, and his mouth is full of her praise. She dresses her household in scarlet. She has authority and she makes wise decisions. She looks like the perfect example of what we know we ought to be.

We hunger to grow, but we sit quietly and seek to humble ourselves and learn. Because we know that we have lots to learn and far to go. And we recognize our need to persevere, never drawing back, because we’re trusting and looking to see through the eyes of the Father. When we quiet ourselves and we can grow into new God perspectives.

In that safe position we will realize that all children start little and it takes time for them to grow into full maturity. There our hearts rejoice! How glad we are that we’re leaning on his love and that strong incompreshensible love loves us all through the various processes of our journey. Our hearts are set on pilgrimage.

Here’s a good recipe for building ourselves up and growing into those rare grace places. May long suffering patience have it’s perfect work.

By faith, in sub, ission to Holy Spirit, we cultivate our own fruit..

2 Peter 1:3-9

“Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.

For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But if anyone (who calls himself a believer) does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.”

If we think deep and seek to dwell deeper we understand that all her sweet fruit and good success grew from the root of her reverent fear of the Lord.

Those who know their God will be strong and do exploits.
