I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently will find me. – Proverbs 8:17
This word is all about being lost and then being found. About wonders that are laid up for us for radical faith…or the faith of radicals…
Radical Definition
Arising from or going to a root or source; basic.
Departing markedly from the usual or customary; extreme or drastic.
A person or a move which advocates fundamental or revolutionary changes in current practices, conditions, or institutions.
Are you a disciple of Christ who desires new depths and wonders? I am, I don’t want to wade around in the shallows. I want an “all the way to the root” cleansing that will take me into spiritual purity. Only then can I reach the unreached and love the unlovely.
I’ve learned that before we can be used by God we need deliverance from our old carnal nature. Our soul needs to be sanctified. Within the soul are the root causes of our thought and action. Who we are to the core. And we’re ruled by what’s been imprinted on the soul. Nothing godly, no spiritual delight and heavenly insight. We need an extreme makeover.
Over years of wrong lifestyle influences roots have been embedded in the heart. Emotional trauma has set response patterns in place. Our lives had no stable foundation, we were powerless against the negatives of the life we were born into. Learned behavior patterns, things such as excessive fear, disrespect for authority, traumatic contentions and anger that causes patterns of divisiveness, had become a normal way of life for many. We were drowning in a sea of hopelessness. We thought life was just that way and we had no recourse but to make the best of it.
However. once we’ve been found by God’s love and his amazing grace everything is new. We begin to adapt to a new work within. Heaven is at work now. Through His radical soul renewal processes, he sets out to clean up our life garden He sets out to restore our soul. He sets out to uproot weeds and heal soul wounds.
Little by little we began to discover the thrill of his joyous good pleasure and over time learning to yield ourselves fully to his processes. The weeds were deeper than we had imagined, yet we yield, because his Fathering love compels us. He wants to do a total purifying work in us.
He has a perfect plan. We’re called to be rooted and grounded in his word. It’s very far beyond any human ability. All of the efforts of man are vain. We’re called to things that only Holy Spirit can do.
Isaiah 58:12
And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
Will we become willing, yielded vessels to be renewed and filled? That’s a choice we’ll be called on to make over and over as we pass through from the old season toward the new. Never drawing back.
The ongoing process will be beyond our understanding. By placing our whole heart of trust on Christ within our imperfections can be stripped away by his blood covered work in process. The mind is washed and renewed so that the mind of Christ guides us.
In righteousness we hunger and thirst for Christ’s kingdom word.
This one thing I have desired of the Lord, that I may dwell with him in his house forever.
His word upholds the righteous. In covenant with God he writes his laws upon our hearts and minds.
All who will conform willingly to the will of God can be changed and empowered by grace. I’m glad to know that where Jesus has begun a work of deliverance, he will not fail nor be discouraged until he has finished it. And neither should we. Don’t draw back. Keep your peace and keep the faith. Let the river of his love flow deep within. Wait patiently as his perfect love carries us all the way through his processes.
Our goal is maturity, the total freedom of Christlikeness.
Thank you, Father God, for the indescribable gift of your Son!
