Isn’t it awesome that we, as children of God, have been given the privilege of reigning in life, through Christ? We have a high calling from Jesus. We’re holy vessels valuable to God in ways we’ve not realized. Let’s look deeper.
Acts 26:-15-18
And I (Paul/Saul) said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

In the scripture text this is the charge that Jesus gave to the apostle Paul. He was a chosen vessel, submitted to the instructions of Jesus, prepared and sent; appointed by heaven to become a “Change Agent” in the culture. To turn men from the power of satan unto God. Paul was delivered out from under the curse of the law that was causing him to war against the people of Jesus. Jesus reversed the curse. He was filled to the brim with Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 1:14
Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.Blood bought, Spirit taught, Touched and enabled by the power from on high.
The Holy Ghost is able to save to the uttermost. He changes us and we are abandoned to the pursuit of sound wisdom from the heart of our Father. Through his indescribable love we’re made ready and called to his army. The army of the Lord is said to have the “appearance of Horses” in Joel 2. And they are said to be strong, fearless and ready for battle! In this season, God is rallying His troops!
As soldiers in Gods army we all have a place. God assigns it and only God can get us there. There are rivers of mercies all along our way and He is gentle and gracious as he instructs us. He searches our heart and brings newness where we have need of it.
Psalm 26:2
Examine me, oh Lord! Try my reins and my heart.
The process of being recreated is what I’m talking about here. Before we can serve we have to experience “Brokenness” I compare that to the process of training wild horses. Our old nature has to die and we have to allow God to break in and do that. We’ve lived in self will, independent, often stubborn, and full of fears. We need taming and trust lessons that will gentle us and free us from our independent nature. We need to be set free from all fear of the hand of the Master. We have to be reined in, captured by his love, set apart and gentled. We will learn to love his law above our own life, and from that position nothing can offend us. . The process will be painful at times, we will suffer losses, but God knows how glorious the end will be. The end result will be a childlike trust, full of the wonder of him and devoted at all costs. We’re always at rest with him. In his rest we cease from our own works, we live free of strife and worry, unburdened and untroubled, in the fulness of his joy.
The process is a lot like the “Horse Whisperer” we’ve all heard of.

He is expert at training and gentling wild horses. It takes us through times of refining and fiery trial, and it’s imperative that we follow him all the way through his training practices.
His way with us will birth a humility and mature grace for effective ministry in our hearts. We will be changed in divine ways so that we will be a demonstration of truth, not just a voice talking about truth. Some of our training experiences will be painful, but God knows that the end reward will be glorious. When we’ve learned to submit with love and trust him fully we will delight in following him wherever he leads. Ready for service in his army.
Christlike, reigning in life, turning men from the power of satan unto God. So that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
4
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.
