For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
I firmly believe the saying that joy belongs to the sanctified saints and that laughter is good medicine. And I believe the word of God where he promises to fill our mouths with laughter and our lips with shouts of joy.
Psalm 126:2
Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.”
There really is a happy peaceful place we can access by persevering trust and obediance. A place near the heart of God.
In the times when trouble comes to knock on our door we can yield to his powerful word of faith and overcoming love, and rise up into a new level of joy. God loves for us to be happy in him and I discovered very early in my search to know him that he encourages us to laugh a lot. In our secret place with him we learn to hear and follow his heart.
As we practice patient trust we have his joy to strengthen us while he is recreating us. We’re called to be made into the image of his son. He builds us up and makes overcomers out of weak but trusting children. We will have to walk through some wilderness seasons but when we follow our shepherd he brings us out with joy and leads us forth with peace. And my experience with Jesus has proven that there’s great joy in our journey with him.
That’s my story and it’s a real one. Mostly my story is about his perfect way over my way. His merciful love guides those who set the whole heart on him. He watches over my life and guides me through darkness. If we set our whole hearts to remaining the learner he will keep teaching us the right way. If we stay honest to realize how wretched and lost we are until we find our home in him we’re safe. His mercies will build strengths into our yielded vessel. It’s when we begin to think the good we’re accomplishing is because of our own smarts that we get into pride. And pride will block learning and repentance. It leads to destruction.
Submission to God will arm us against the wiles of the enemy who comes to kill, steal and destroy. In God we’re set free from satan’s plans to ruin us. Father will be faithful to keep us humbled under his mighty hand. His love is so amazing! The Lord is my light and my strength. In him is fulness of joy….
