“I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight; and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together.”
The word is an excerpt from Martin Luther King’s great speech. It’s the context of the promises of God from Isaiah 40:4 The words have become world famous and the impact of his speech is still being felt today. Quite awhile back I heard from a very good source that there was more to Dr King than I had ever known. I didn’t realize for many years that Martin Luther King was a prophet of God and that he was prophesying things to come. Dr King’s dream to see justice for his people in a nation torn apart by racist hatred is in varying stages of being realized today. His dream made a dramatic and undeniable impact on the world we live in.
In this day and time we know that God is still making his glory to be known in the earth as he continues to fulfill that great word of promise.
One great thing about the study of the ministry and life of Dr King is that we can see living proof of who God is and of his faithfulness to right wrongs in our society. He is the one who plants dreams in the hearts of men who are willing and brave enough to give their lives to be used by God. God is the source of all good dreams, and He appoints and equips willing men to fulfill his dreams for the earth we live in. He desires to see his world impacted in great ways. And I love seeking understanding of his heart and his dreams.
I’m reminded as I reflect on these things that God dreamed another big dream. He dreamed of new heavens and a new earth where righteousness will dwell. He dreamed of peace and liberty for all who are oppressed, and he laid out the blueprints for the fulfillment at the foundation of the world.
Isaiah 65:17……For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
Father God planted seeds for the dream in the hearts of men. The apostle Peter dreamed the dream.
2 Peter 3:13…..Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness.
Now my dream is to discover the good way of God for my life so that I may know how to co-operate with him as he fulfills his dreams.
The eternal plan is that through the life offering of His son on the cross the desire of the Father’s heart will be realized. Saints are called, tried, found true and chosen to be prepared to labor with him to bring the truth of a new heavenly covenant into the earth. He raises up bold and courageous leaders who will obey him and work with him to bring the blessings of heaven into the lives of men. Yokes of darkness can be removed and heavy burdens lifted.
2 Peter 3:13…..Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness.
Saints who live under the holy covenant of God in Christ walk on his paths of righteousness and are equipped to introduce kingdom righteousness into the places they dwell in. Righteousness dwells where Jesus rules.
I’m one who is looking to see this dream become real in my life. He tells us “Give me no rest until I make my people a name and a praise in the earth.” However, in another place he talks about humility. He tells us that in Christ we are to make ourselves of no reputation. After I thought on that awhile I realized how little I knew. I don’t know how to become a name and a praise for his glory while at the same time never building up my own reputation. And I don’t know how to pray that for others. None of us know the specific plan of God, it’s only revealed by Holy Spirit. So we ought to be careful to know for sure that what we do is his choosing and not our own. We yield our hopes and dreams to him and he will make his dreams for our lives real. He plants the seeds and he fulfills the dream. Are you a disciple of Christ? If so this all applies to you.
God’s dream is to harvest the souls of men and to renew the earth. bringing heavens love and offer of eternal life to all who will hear and seek. This work will begin in the hearts and houses of disciples of Christ, changing lives and circumstances for great good. We will love and be loved in ways that we have never known. We will manifest righteousness, justice and healing love and power. His work is ongoing to make his kingdom of holy Kings and Priests a blessing to the earth, a shelter from the storms of life, and an example which points the way toward the promise of peace and protection in this life with the hope of eternal life for many who believe and obey.
I remember that Jesus said “Occupy until I come”. God’s dream is for His people to be preparing for the endtime harvest of many souls. The beautiful dream includes the inheritance promised to our seed, our children and descendants and all the Lord will call. We are equipped through the indwelling Holy Spirit to bring peace to those who welcome us. Those who surrender to his great love and rise up in righteousness will be equipped by the indwelling Holy Spirit to bring great change to the world they live in. Won’t you seek the Lord to see what your part might be in it?
Isaiah 66:22-23……For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.
