Do you have a heavenly vision on your heart? Something specific that you know God has put on your heart? If your answer to that question is yes, you might be interested in what I’m sharing here.
We have to learn how to steward our visions.
I have God given life vision, or dream, and I’ve spent some times in prayer and study of the lawful process of seeing vision become reality. We learn that a process takes us from a point of beginning all the way through to the manifestation of the end. We enter into a process of coming out of our old nature, ignorant of divine truth, and being supernaturally transformed into the new nature of Christ. In all of it’s fullness.
First, how do we know a vision is really God ordained? A couple of examples from the word help us to understand better. In King David’s story personal words were spoken by the voice of the Lord through an anointed servant, a prophet. Samuel spoke the word of God over David; about God’s vision to make him a king. In Joseph’s case his heavenly plan came in a dream like vision.
When a prophetic word comes it’s a seed planted. It’s purpose is to bring a heavenly dream to birth. A lot like the story of Mary, mother of Jesus, but not exactly. Now, we are to give birth to a vision of God to produce Christ in us, and many sons and daughters to him in Christ’s image. And just like natural childbirth, the seed is being nurtured and an invisible process has begun.
We need to be aware that the seed word just begins a long journey of process, but our God is with us all the way. It unfolds as the will of God directs. We are aware of it always but it’s like a gigantic puzzle. My daughter loves picture puzzles and she is very good at putting them together. These kinds of puzzles have a picture you can see before you start out. Then you have to add a piece at a time. God sees the complete picture. He knows the end from the beginning, but we don’t know how to get there. He has all the pieces and we’re only allowed to see a few at a time. We see him adding a few little pieces here and there and a rough picture somewhat resembling what we thought He said is emerging.
Then we begin to get in a hurry, excited, thinking “Wow, I’m finally getting it!” And we get so excited that we decide the time has arrived. We begin adding our own little plan puzzle pieces that look like they should fit. But then when we try them we discover we were wrong, it’s still too disorderly, unclean and unclear. We are secretly saying “OK, Father, I think I can take it from here:” And we get in the flesh, trying to make things happen. Disorder happens. Our peace is troubled and our frustrations begin to rise up.
However, take heart, because we are not lost! We’re actually being stretched with lessons in overcoming ourselves. Our way and our own righteousness. If we keep the faith and not let discouragement bring is down we’re soon rescued by Holy Spirit, our ever present help in any trouble. A welcome word of correction comes and we’re made to realize we’re out of His time. Thankfully, we grow as we learn and adjust. We’re being educated. We seek to stay in the flow of His river. We’ve begun to see the greatness of His divine plan clearly enough to know for sure that this thing is impossible for us to do. It’s mind boggling! We seen the truth. We can only fulfill this work through the skills of the Holy Spirit.
Slowly but surely our passion to see the details of the vision become real is replaced by the passion of a higher vision. To know the giver of the vision better, rather than our focus on the fulfillment. We fall in love with he who loved us first. Wrapped up in His tender mercies and strong love we submit to a deeper surrender. And He keeps refilling us with a fresh resolve and a new patience.
In our new found intimacy with Him we rejoice at His delights in us as we’re beginning to more closely resemble His Son. We’ve made it through many messes we’ve made coming through the middle seasons of construction. We’ve learned how to recover and let him clean up our messes. Now we delight in our assurance of His goodness over us. We KNOW him. We’ve discovered that there is a deep, deep joy in the journey with Him.
The puzzle pieces now all fit together and we see the full picture. In hindsight we will see that all of the trials along our way were used for our good. We’ve come to full term and we’ve given birth to our baby. We will find that the discomfort of carrying the vision and the labor pains to deliver are all worth it in the end. We live with our Beloved in the land of purpose and destiny. Kingdom citizen; the pillar and ground of the truth. Jesus is Lord. He is our all in all and we are a part of his corporate body. We are now equipped to live life as He has planned it. This begins a new beginning. There will always be new places and new phases beyond.
Isaiah 58: 8 Then shall thy light break forth as the dawn, and thy health shall spring forth speedily; and thy righteousness shall go before thee, the glory of Jehovah shall be thy rearguard. 9 Then shalt thou call, and Jehovah will answer; thou shalt cry, and he will say, Here I am.
12 And they [that come] of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations [that have remained] from generation to generation; and thou shalt be called, Repairer of the breaches, restorer of paths to dwell in.
