A Garden Enclosed

Psalm 45:

Leave your father’s house and the King will be greatly enthralled with your beauty.

(Comparing this to God telling Abraham “Leave all that is familar to you and go to a place that I will show you)

Song of Solomon 4:
9 Thou hast ravished my heart, my sister, my spouse; thou hast ravished my heart with one of thine eyes, with one chain of thy neck. 10 How fair is thy love, my sister, my spouse! how much better is thy love than wine! and the smell of thine ointments than all spices!

11 Thy lips, O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb: honey and milk are under thy tongue; and the smell of thy garments is like the smell of Lebanon.

My heart gets so excited when I read any portion of this book from heaven. There is absolutely no greater love story and it is for all who have set their hearts and minds on following on to know the Lord and return His love.

We wonder, how can we ever come to a right and complete understanding of the depth of the love of the Lord for His beloved? I’ve discovered that it’s a long journey through process. The process of his disciplines are set to make us wiser. We lean in real close. We learn. We listen. We understand that we need the watchful eye of the Lord. We need the loving authority of the appointed shepherds. We need deep heart respect for the anointing.

We meet him in the garden of prayer. The Song of Solomon is a teaching about the experience of divine romance.  A love song to be listened for and then sung to others. The book is about our passionate love life with the King and his people.

I know the book is often applied to the marriage of man and wife. On one level. However, in reality there is a much deeper level of truth. It’s about our union with him. One with the Lord. That deep revelation knowledge has to to become a part of us. The true fullness and beauty of the book is only found through the ever increasing supply of the Holy Spirit in us. We need our Lover to take us into the deeper level, the reality of the bride focused on getting herself ready.

Through the indwelling Spirit we are wooed and delighted in wonderful ways by our communion with our Beloved. The bridegroom loves his church. As we keep our hearts open to Him, through His passionate love we finally come to the blissful place of sweet surrender.

Song Of Solomon 4:
12 A garden enclosed is my sister, my spouse; a spring shut up, a fountain sealed.

The heart surrendered to the Father is the garden sealed, the safe and secret place where we are well guarded by our jealous Beloved. Here we are privileged to share in the mysteries that few understand

We are placed with loving care under his covering and our hearts are his garden. Our heart is good soil, the seedbed of our heart is fertile, green and productive. Though our trust and obedience we are clothed in Christ Jesus.  Jesus said that those who walk in His ways will release from their bellies rivers of living waters. Through the fountains of our heart the Holy Spirit pours out the living waters which flow from the throne of God. This is the Balm of Gilead which is able to heal the wounds of God’s people.

As we are submissive through faith and patience we will inherit every sweet promise. There is no higher calling than to be one with our Beloved!

The Mother Lode

The Mother Lode

Genesis 2:
10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads. 11 The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasses the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; 12 And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.

For quite a number of years I’ve thought deep on the scripture above. It was very intriguing to me because of what God said about the gold in the garden. “And the gold of that land was good” I was very young in the Lord and wanted to learn all I could about God’s truth and especially over money matters. Because money matters are such a constant part of our lives. I did have a vague understanding that God’s word says that the love of money is the root of all evil.

So, being one who wants to learn how to do what is acceptable to the Lord, I give quite a bit of thought to learning.  I’ll add here that I still have a lot to learn on the subject, because I know it’s a vast one.

Then one day as I was listening in prayer I heard very clearly, “Mother Lode”

I gave this lots of thought, because I had set out to learn to hear his voice and to apply what he is saying to me. It takes lots of practice to learn to hear the voice of the Lord. You have to be alert and attentive. God might give you one word or maybe one phrase, a song or a story, and the hunger to learn will cause you to dig in and trace down what he is meaning. What are the thoughts of his heart?

I did some research into the term “Mother Lode” and found that mother lode is a mining term which refers to the largest lode of ore that has been tapped in a mining operation. The vein, the source of the treasure. A vein that is a source of treasures. Soon I remembered stories of gold miners. These adventurers were awakened with new passions when they heard the cry “There’s gold in them thar hills!!” and according to the legends passed down, many major gold rushes resulted. The gold of the land was good to them!

I thought some more over some things I knew about mining. How a miner does extensive research into possible locations where treasure might be found, and when a rich vein is located  they drop all plans and set out to establish mining operations there.

Now, being a firm believer in the gospel of Jesus Christ, I knew that God said his riches are so vast they’re unsearchable. Treasure hidden in darkness. the riches of secret places.

Ephesians 3:8
Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.

So, if we’re mining for the treasure of his riches we learn that God’s word is where the digging must begin.

Revelation 3:18
I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that you may be rich; and white raiment, that you may be clothed.

The gold tried in the fire is His rightly divided word of truth. It’s priceless, but we can only buy it if we make a true covenant with God. At the cost of all other things.

Psalms 12:6
The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

In God’s word we find the source of the rich vein of provisions.  In Jesus is the river of life that flows from the throne of God. As in the beginning; remember that a river flows through the garden of God.

Genesis 2:
10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden

Holy Spirit is the river. He is the never drying fountain of life giving water. It is he who introduces God to us. He is the revealer of who Jesus is.

He reveals to seekers that Jesus alone is the source of heaven’s love and power.  He is and he has the light of life. His name is The Word Of God. He sent Holy Spirit to us to reveal himself to his people. Only through our submission to him and his leadings can we know who God is and who we are. He is the source of all skills and giftings. The source of all wisdom and understanding. He is our guide into all truth. His love alone creates the unity of the saints which commands the blessing. Through his treasures of love and truth we can grow into true godliness. Satisfied and content with him above all things. Godliness with contentment is great gain.

My conclusion,  as a miner who has done much searching….

The vein, the Mother Lode, has been found when we’ve tapped into a right relationship with the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit. We’ve struck it rich!  For all of the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in him. Through him  our Father God opens up the treasures of His word so that souls can be redeemed and lives changed.

And we can become a source of the riches of Christ for all for all who hear us.

Isaiah 45:3
And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou may know that I, the Lord, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.

In intimacy we have personal knowledge of who God really is. He is our everlasting Father who loves us deeply. We become lovesick for more and more of him. No man can see into the vastness of his love.

Deuteronomy 28:12
The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure.

Haggai 2:8
The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the Lord of hosts.

Genesis 13:2
And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.

Gal 3.9

So. those who rely on faith are blessed with faithful Abraham

But we don’t set out with motives that will make our search unfruitful. There are warnings in God’s word for treasure hunters! In this example from God’s word we see that if our motive in our service to God is money, or any other kind of personal gain, we invite trouble. God sends the blessing showers to and through covenant lovers.

In covenant all we’re given is to be used for kingdom purposes. And all our personal needs will be met in God’s ways and times. Abraham used all his personal wealth for the good of all the family and servants God gave him. And he supported the priesthood.

1 Timothy 6:9
Those wishing to be rich, do fall into temptation and a snare, and many desires, foolish and hurtful, that sink men into ruin and destruction.

Buy the truth and sell it not.

If we lean on the Lord and stay submitted and pliable he will purify us.  Then the meek and the spiritually poor and needy are made strong and rich in blessing, because all of God’s promises are yea and amen to all who have pure motives and live for God’s glory.

Philippians 4:6
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus…..

Holy Spirit is the Wonderful Counselor. The Great Shepherd of the sheep,  who guides the willing flock of God into all truth. He fulfills what Jesus died for, salvation of the souls of men, deliverance from all unrighteousness for the godly and divine justice because of the glories of the cross. .

Let’s go for the Gold! Let’s stake our claim and seek the gold of the good land, the land under God’s eye.

The guidance of Holy Spirit takes us to the true riches. We’re all invited to become miners with the Lord Jesus. If we’re people who won’t settle for less than his best for us, if we won’t be content with the counterfeit riches the lower life offers,  we can be reborn into newness. We can stand against all opposition to the good success God desires for us and seek deep for the true riches. Father God will fill our bellies with his living waters.  Then a beautiful  river of life will flow out of us. To enrich the earth, because we know that the rivers and the streams of God make the hearts of God’s people glad.  Our joy in the riches of the Lord can infect others.  Many will see and hear of his love for them and be reborn.
