The Lord Is A Man Of War

Psalm 80:2 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come and save us.

Isaiah 42:13 The Lord shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.

It’s time for the saints to rule by the power of the Holy Spirit. It’s time for all who are the called of God to stir up the gifts that are within and seek the baptism by fire. It’s time to fine tune our ears to hear what the spirit is saying to the church. We overcome the devil by the word of our testimony, by the blood of the lamb, and by giving up all love of our own lives, even unto death.

To them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Savior Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust

The Lord will send unrighteous rulers to reign over us if we turn away from him. He also will use unrighteous believers to test our faithfulness to him.

As the Israelites were a type of the church on earth, they were not to be idle and slothful. The Lord was pleased to try them by the remains of the devoted nations they spared. Temptations and trials detect the wickedness of the hearts of sinners; and strengthen the graces of believers in their daily conflict with Satan, sin, and this evil world. They must live in this world, but they are not of it, and are forbidden to conform to it. This marks the difference between the followers of Christ and mere professors. The friendship of the world is more fatal than its enmity; the latter can only kill the body, but the former murders many precious souls.
